Marla Mervis-Hartmann

Marla is a remarkable individual whose journey of self-discovery and empowerment has touched the lives of many. From her early struggles with body image to becoming a beacon of self-love she has inspired countless individuals to break free from limiting beliefs and embrace their true selves.

Marla’s early memories were filled with dissatisfaction as she looked at her reflection in the mirror, grappling with self-image and seeking happiness through controlling her weight. Her pursuit of societal standards led her down a path of self-destructive behaviors but she soon realized that happiness couldn’t be found in an arbitrary number on a scale. This epiphany shattered the illusion she had clung to for so long and sparked a profound transformation.

Embracing a new chapter in her life as a mother, Marla’s perspective shifted. Pregnancy gifted her with a deeper understanding of the need for self-nourishment and care mirroring the love she bestowed upon her baby. This newfound connection allowed her to see her body as a vessel of love and care replacing self-disgust with self-compassion.

Supported by therapy, Overeaters Anonymous, and various self-help techniques, Marla learned that the key to self-love lay in breaking free from societal pressures and embracing authenticity. Her journey of healing inspired her to found “Love Your Body Love Yourself,” a platform dedicated to body image and empowerment.

Drawing from her extensive expertise as a Body Image and Empowerment expert, Massage Therapist, Reiki Master, and certified in various wellness modalities, Marla empowers individuals to embrace self-acceptance and liberate themselves from the grip of self-hatred. Through her inspiring TEDx Salinas talk and her work as an educator and practitioner she continues to touch hearts and minds offering hope and healing to those who struggle with body image.

Marla’s legacy is one of empowerment and transformation. Her passion for helping others love their bodies and themselves has created a ripple effect of positivity and self-acceptance in the lives of many. With a heart full of compassion and a dedication to uplifting others Marla continues to be a guiding light for all on the path of self-discovery and self-love.
